How the main answer changed
The retired-homeowner answer omitted ACT’s separate pension-age schedule and The Opportunity Party’s rates-deferral discussion, while bringing back Te Pāti Māori. It also said everyone turning 65 needed 20 years of New Zealand residence.
That blanket residence statement was incorrect in our selected check: the requirement rises according to date of birth. The check does not grade the separate party proposals about pension age.
The extracts compare the main Gemini answer on 23 and 26 October. Each opens the original answer from its own date. Other assistants' complete answers are available above.
- 23 October 2026 · Earlier answerGemini“Rates and Housing: With local council rates rising steeply for homeowners, policies around fixed-income relief or housing/rates deferrals (notably proposed by minor parties like TOP) are emerging points of discussion for asset-rich, cash-flow-conscious retirees.”Open in the answer
- 26 October 2026 · Later answerGemini“(Note: Regardless of political debate, the transition rules introduced previously continue to apply regarding residency: anyone turning 65 faces a residency requirement of living in NZ for 20 years since age 20, up from the historical 10 years.)”Open in the answer
